Black Life Also Matters in Willingboro, NJ

Willingboro, NJ. June 7, 2020: A Voter's Registration table was setup by the Brothers of NuNu Chapter for anybody who needed to register to vote. We received several registrations from quite a few first time voters. Once people finished signing up to vote, we marched, we chanted the words of “I Can't Breathe” as we Protested in the name of Black Lives Matter on the four corners of route 130 in Willingboro, NJ. Lead by Willingboro High School students, Brothers of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc.,

NuNu Chapter, and people from the surrounding areas came together in solidarity to fight for justice. The peaceful rally brought out people from surrounding communities of all races who displayed signs of 'No Justice, No Peace, 'My Skin Color Is Not A Crime', and a variety of other signs. After several hours of protesting approximately 300 people, with police escort marched over to the Willingboro Municipal Complex. There, they were welcomed by Major Dr. Tiffani Worthy (Member of DELTA SIGMA THETA, INC) who spoke and shared the importance of registering to vote for the upcoming elections and allowing our voices to be heard. Young people were then allowed to express and share their feeling pertaining to the George Floyd death and their hopes for the future.
